Help us bring the Fashion in Gaming Awards to life at New York Comic Con!
We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers and ambassadors erested in gaming, fashion, cosplay, digital culture, and live events. Opportunities are available both in the months leading up to the show and onsite at the Javits Center.
Volunteer at NYCC
Thursday, October 8, 2026 | 5:30–10:30 PM | Javits Center
The awards show runs from 7:00–9:30 PM, with volunteer check-in, briefing, setup, and breakdown occurring before and after the program. Exact call times may vary by role.
Guest Experience

Ushers — Welcome attendees, direct seating, manage entrances and exits, and assist with audience flow.

Check-In & Guest List Assistants — Support registration, credentials, VIP check-in, and attendee questions.

Wayfinding Volunteers — Direct guests to the show space, restrooms, and other key locations.

Accessibility Assistants — Help guests locate accessible seating and connect them with venue support.

VIP & Nominee Hosts — Welcome nominees, jurors, presenters, sponsors, and special guests and help them navigate the event.
Stage, Backstage & Event Setup Support

Stage Queue Coordinator — Line up presenters, performers, nominees, and award recipients before they go onstage.

Awards & Trophy Assistants — Organize awards in presentation order, coordinate with presenters, and ensure each award reaches the stage at the correct time.

Volunteer Check-In Coordinators — Check in volunteers, provide assignments, and direct them to their team leads.
Cosplay Central & Runway

Cosplay Check-In Coordinator — Check in participants, confirm their information, and direct them to the preparation area.

Runway Line-Up & Escort Coordinator — Organize participants in appearance order and escort them between Cosplay Central, backstage, and the runway.
Production Support

Video & Photography Team — Capture the awards show, runway, attendees, and behind-the-scenes moments.

Content Capture Team — Create approved social-first content throughout the event.
Who should apply?
We welcome students, emerging professionals, creators, and experienced volunteers. Prior event experience is helpful but not required. We’re looking for people who are reliable, collaborative, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and excited about gaming, fashion, cosplay, or live entertainment.

Become a Fashion in Gaming Awards Ambassador
Our Ambassador Programme brings forward our mission of recognizing the artists behind the fashion in games through the people that conceptualize, craft, and play those games. Ambassadors are the voices, connectors, and advocates who carry the Fashion in Gaming Awards into their own communities – studios, campuses, creator networks, and fashion or gaming events around the world.

What is the Fashion in Gaming Awards Ambassador Program?
The FIGs Ambassador Programme is a global community of gamers, designers, stylists, developers, and fashion-forward creators who champion digital fashion as a serious creative and cultural force. Our Ambassadors raise awareness for the FIGs nominations, categories, and events – sharing opportunities with their events and act as on-the-ground advocates for the people crafting the fashion in video games.
Whether you’re a character designer, a major studio, or a fan who lives for any great avatar drop, this programme provides a platform – and a community – to champion the style and design in gaming.
Who can become an Ambassador?
Anyone with a fashion for in-game style. You don’t have to work in the games industry, nor do you have to have a fashion background – the only requirement to get involved is enthusiasm, and a willingness to get involved.
We welcome applications from:

Fashion Designers or stylists exploring digital and virtual wearables

Streamers, content creators, and community leaders

Students and educators in fashion, game design, or digital media

Brand, marketing, and partnership professionals in fashion and/or gaming

What does an Ambassador do?
Ambassadors are active, visible, and engaged with the fashion in gaming community:

Spread the Word: Share FIGs nominations, categories, and events with your community & network

Engage with our Community: Attend and engage in Fashion in Gaming Awards livestreams and Discord

Champion a Nominee: Help surface designers, studios, and creators who deserve recognition
