“New York City is proud to host the debut of the Fashion in Gaming Awards at New York Comic Con, an event that will shine a light on two major contributors to our cultural and economic identities — digital gaming and fashion,” said Commissioner Rafael Espinal of the NYC Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment.
“Together, these industries employ close to 200,000 New Yorkers and help keep creatives coming here. And with the Fashion in Gaming Awards taking place during the city’s first New York Games Week, we’re building the kind of ecosystem that will make NYC a global home for the future of both industries.”

Cloud. Zagreus. Ambessa. Who wore it best?
The Fashion in Gaming Awards answered that question at New York Comic Con’s ultimate afterparty, the first global event celebrating outstanding achievements in skins in gaming. Gaming’s most iconic characters and designers went head to head for the biggest fashion honors, with Zagreus from Hades taking home Best-Dressed Hero and Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade winning Best-Dressed Villain.
The night was packed with ways for the crowd to get involved. Attendees picked the winner of an interactive cosplay runway, watched a brutal roast of gaming’s most infamous skins, took part in giveaways and danced to a live DJ set.
It was a night of epic drip, killer beats and iconic avatar throwdowns, and a celebration of the best fashion in video games.
